INTER-MILAN 1-2 THE PROMOTED
Matteo Gabbia vote 9 – Heart (Milan) and attention in the defensive phase (in pair with Tomorrow who plays with personality, but keeps Lautaro in play on the Nerazzurri net vote 6-). The header with the ball ending up in the top corner a few seconds from the 90th minute sets San Siro alight, sending the Rossoneri fans wild with joy.
Reijnders rating 7.5 – He sends Abraham to the goal with a flash of class, kicks the free kick that leads to Matteo Gabbia’s goal in a divine way and shows a performance of great quality. In the middle of the field he towers with a Fofana devoted to sacrifice and appreciated in the closing phase (vote 6)
Maignan vote 7 – Thuram turns ‘à la Giroud’, but Magic Mike responds to the poisonous diagonal with an exceptional save. Zero blame for Inter’s goal
Summer vote 7 – Leao tries his luck with his head at the start of the second half, but the Swiss goalkeeper is not surprised. Halfway through the second half he finds himself Rafa (match between light and shade, rating 6-) two steps away, but he disarms his conclusion. You can’t say anything about Milan’s goals.
Dimarco vote 7 – It gives the go-ahead to the action of the temporary equaliser (well caught by an excellent opening of Stretcher who is saved in the Nerazzurri’s half-shipwreck in midfield, vote 6.5) and then finishes it masterfully. One of the liveliest of an under par Inter.
Pulisic vote 7 – He steals the ball from Mkhitaryan and cuts the Inter defense in two, giving Milan the lead. Captain America plays all over the field, not only offensive flashes but a lot of work to help his teammates.
Abraham-Morata rating 6.5 – Tammy runs, fights, keeps Inter’s defense on edge and sends Leao to goal (but Sommer doesn’t agree). His only fault is not finding the goal when he is spectacularly freed by Reijnders, sending the diagonal shot just wide. Alvaro plays a bit as a striker, a bit as an attacking midfielder, even as a midfielder when the team needs a hand
Lautaro rating 6.5 – He invents a great play that frees Dimarco for the 1-1 goal, a couple of shots that don’t find luck: Toro isn’t always brilliant, but his performance can’t be considered negative.
Emerson Royal 6+ Hypnotized by Dimarco on Inter’s goal, then a second half of running and ‘garra‘
INTER-MILAN 1-2 FAILED
Thuram vote 5.5 – Only one diagonal shot was blocked by Maignan’s miracle
Pavard vote 5 Does not contain Pulisic on the Rossoneri advantage. Never too convincing during the match.
Acerbi vote 5 – Superb during the week against Haaland in the Champions League, struggling against Abaham in the derby
Mkhitaryan vote 5 – Pulisic steals the ball from him on the goal that made Milan 1-0. Not very brilliant overall
Calhanoglu vote 5 – He sees Pulisic flying towards the Nerazzurri area without being able to put up an obstacle. Sixty-three minutes with an uninspired Hakan on the pitch (in his place Asllani vote 5: enters the playing field, but not the match)
Frattesi vote 4.5 Inzaghi inserts him in the last half hour to give Inter a boost, but the former Sassuolo player has little or no impact. And Gabbia is lost on Milan’s goal
Inter-Milan 1-2, Gabbia decides the derby.
Fonseca: “No one has put Inter in such difficulty for a long time”
