According to the latest InfoGripe Bulletin, released by Fiocruz on Wednesday (26), the influenza A virus accounted for 24.6% of positive cases for respiratory viruses in the last four weeks, a value close to that of registered cases of Covid-19, which in turn had a drop in the total number of cases (representing 26.4%) in the same period.
The data, referring to the week between October 16 and 22, indicate that the states of São Paulo and the Federal District have the highest absolute number of positive cases for influenza in recent weeks.

According to Fiocruz, they serve as a warning to the other federative units in the country, especially due to the interstate flow of passengers. In addition, the foundation also points to a slight increase in the virus in the following states: Bahia, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraná.
In the last four weeks, Fiocruz points out that Influenza A represented 24.6% of positive results for respiratory viruses; influenza B 0.6%; the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) 21.7%; and Covid-19 26.4%.
Considering deaths, the impact of Covid-19 stands out, accounting for 77.8% of total deaths; 11.1% were caused by influenza A; and 1.6% by the VSR.
States
Nine of the 27 federative units show moderate growth in the long-term trend for respiratory viruses: Alagoas, Amazonas, Amapá, Maranhão, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio de Janeiro, Sergipe and São Paulo.
In most states, growth is concentrated among children and adolescents.
