The Polish division of Infinity Ward – well-known author of Call of Duty at Activision Blizzard – is looking for staff to work on a “open world role-playing game“.
As indicated by the official website and as reported by ChalieIntel on Twitter, the required job position was that of Narrative Director. The details are minimal, but experience with open world games with non-linear narrative was required. However, the official site has removed the position: it seems that they have already found someone for that role.
“Open world RPG” is an extremely general indication which could apply to The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Fallout but also to The Division. It could be a turn-based game, a third-person or first-person combat game; the options are many. It could also be a new type of product based on Call of Duty and not a new IP.
For now it is useless to speculate: we hope that there will be official announcements about it as soon as possible. In any case, it could be a secondary project still years away, given that we do not think that Activision Blizzard intends to put aside the chapters of Call of Duty developed by Infinity Ward.
What are yours hopes for a project of this type?
