The turnover of the industry increased by 65.3% in May in the Region of Murcia compared to the same month of 2021, up to an index of 215.5, according to data released this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics ( INE).
Thus, the Community was the autonomous region that registered the greatest growth in the turnover of the industry, an index that increased in all the autonomous regions, higher than the national average (32.6%).
National data
At the national level, the turnover of the industry rose by 29.8% in May compared to the same month of 2021, a rate 2.4 points higher than that of April. The original series experiences an annual variation of 32.6%. This rate is 9.6 points higher than that of April
By economic destination of the goods, the indices corrected for seasonal and calendar effects present positive annual rates in all the sectors analyzed. Among them, the increase in energy stands out (142.2%).
By geographical destination of sales, all markets presented positive annual rates in May. The 36.3% increase in the internal market stands out.
The turnover increases compared to May 2021 in all the autonomous communities. The greatest increases occurred in the Region of Murcia (65.3%), the Balearic Islands (55.2%) and the Principality of Asturias (46.4%). And minors in Comunidad Foral de Navarra (13.5%), Comunidad de Madrid (22.4%) and Castilla y León (23.3%).
In monthly terms (between the months of May and April) eliminating seasonal and calendar effects, it is 0.3%. This rate is 15.4 points lower than the previous month.
By economic destination of the goods, four of the five sectors present positive monthly rates. Among them, the increase in Energy stands out (8.3%). The only sector that fell was Capital goods (-0.5%).
