Indica has already the investment paid offaccording to the publisher’s latest financial report 11 bit studios relating to the first three months of 2024. The overall losses are large overall, but there is confidence for the future given the upcoming games.
According to the report, 11 bit studios has achieved a sales of PLN 15.33 million ($3.9 million) in the first quarter, a growth of 3.8% compared to the previous year. Operating losses were PLN 1.03 million ($261,000), while net losses were PLN 1.6 million ($406,000). A sharp decline from the profits of PLN 2.85 million ($723,000) recorded last year.
Overall disappointing results for 11 bit studios
The initial estimates they spoke of a net turnover of PLN 13.5 million ($3.4 million) and a net profit of PLN 1.2 million ($304,000). In short, things went worse than expected.
48% of revenue came from game sales, driven by the launches of The Invincible and The Thaumaturge.
“Although sales of both games during the launch periods were slightly lower than expected, we are pleased to note that fans are responding well to the promotions,” Przemysław Marszał, CEO of 11 bit, said in a statement. “This should have a positive impact on long-term sales over the next few years.”
As a positive fact, it was highlighted that Indika, Odd Meter’s third-person adventure of which you can read our review, “met expectations”. Marszał added that the investment in the project was relatively low, but “it has already largely paid off.”
11 bit expects its games, Frostpunk 2 and The Alters, drive the turnover of the current fiscal year. They will both be available from launch on Game Pass as well. For Frostpunk 2, the choice to make it bookable is also paying off, which seems to have already allowed excellent sales. It is the third most desired title on Steam, while The Alters is in 70th place.
For the next fiscal year, 11 bit has several games planned, including Project 8 (original title) and Botin (codename for the new title from Moonlighter developer Digital Sun).
