Thirteen people died after falling into a well during a wedding ceremony in India, news agency AFP reported on Thursday. The victims were women and children.
The victims had been sitting on an iron plate covering the mouth of the well, which, however, had not withstood the weight but collapsed, police told reporters in the town of Kushinagar in northeastern India.
The victims fell to the bottom of the well and were buried under the broken edges of the well.
