The Ministry of Education of Ukraine is concerned about the growing number of men entering universities
The rising number of men enrolling in universities in Ukraine is causing concern for the Ministry of Education. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Ministry Mikhail Vinnitsky, reports Hromadske.
Vinnitsky reported a twofold increase in the number of applicants to master’s and postgraduate programs, including older men. According to him, the number of applicants hit a record level, exceeding 200 thousand. The official added that the trend was “somewhat alarming” for him.
“Education should not be a means of avoiding constitutional duty,” said the deputy head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education. He said that the department plans to tighten the selection system for universities.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education of Ukraine wanted to identify university students evading mobilization using a unified state qualifying exam.
