The Empire State industrial activity index, which measures manufacturing conditions in the State of New York, rose to -2.4 in February, compared to -43.7 in January, according to a survey released this Thursday, 15th, by the district of New York Federal Reserve (Fed, the US central bank).
The result surpassed the forecast of analysts consulted by FactSet, who predicted an increase in the indicator to -10.9 this month.
