According to the American newspaper, “The New York Post”, a resident of the Russian city of Krasnodar, whose name is Samir Yusupov, is the owner of the truck in which the attack was carried out on the bridge linking Crimea, which Moscow annexed from Ukraine and the Russian mainland.
The newspaper pointed out that Yusupov, 25, was not aboard the truck when the explosion occurred, as a relative of him was using the vehicle.
Yusupov explained in a video clip circulated on social media that he had nothing to do with the bridge accident, as his uncle was working on the truck at the time of the accident to transport goods.
Yusupov confirmed that he did not hear anything about his uncle called Makhir after the explosion, knowing that the latter was coordinating the transportation of goods through a website.
On Saturday, Russian investigators announced that 3 people had died after a truck exploded on the Crimean bridge.
“According to preliminary information, 3 people were killed,” the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement, which it said were “passengers of cars that were near the exploded truck.”
The statement stated that two bodies of a man and a woman had been recovered from the water, while the authorities were still trying to ascertain their identities, and no information was received about the third body.
Investigators said that the owner of the car is a person who lives in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia, without giving his name, adding that “investigations have been launched at his place of residence.”
They also indicated that they were studying “documented information about the route of the truck.”
