Medinsky: May 9 is not a holiday for Europe, the descendants of the Nazis rule there
Now the descendants of Nazis and collaborators are in power in European countries, and therefore May 9 is not a holiday for them. This was stated by Assistant to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society Vladimir Medinsky in an article for the portal “History.rf”.
He noted that in 1941, almost all of continental Europe attacked the USSR. Medinsky emphasized that representatives of Italy, Romania, Hungary, Finland, Spain, France and other countries fought against the Soviet people.
“Today the descendants of collaborators and traitors rule. And somewhere – and surviving Nazis. For them, May 9 is not a holiday. There is no need for illusions,” Medinsky revealed the attitude of Europeans to the holiday.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow condemns the decision of the Berlin authorities to ban Soviet and Russian symbols on May 8 and 9. She noted that the decision was blasphemous and called on the Berlin authorities to cancel it.
