French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that, despite the crisis situation in Ukraine and the Russian special operation in the Donbass, it is imperative to maintain communication channels with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is reported TASS with reference to the TV channel BFM.
“It is absolutely necessary to maintain channels of communication with Vladimir Putin,” the minister said.
He also stressed that France is not at war with Russia.
Earlier, the Ministry of State Security (MGB) of the LPR reported the detention of two intelligence agents of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the department, they planned to carry out a series of terrorist attacks on the territory of the republic, as well as in Russia. It is noted that the agents were detained in Lugansk while trying to transport weapons and ammunition.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in the Donbass. His press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that its goal is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, and the timing of the special operation will be determined by the supreme commander.
