An interesting video immerses us in Ikumi Nakamura’s new studio.
The former creative director of GhostWire: Tokyo, Ikumi Nakamuraofficially launched his new studio called Unseen. Nakamura, who had a great success at E3 2019 and previously worked on Okami and Bayonetta, has left Tango Gameworks due to concerns about his health.
After leaving Tango Gameworks, he received a flood of job offers. He visited gaming studios around the world, seeing how different companies made games and used that experience to create his own company, Unseen. Nakamura wants the studio to be a heterogeneous and intercultural staff collective with developers from Japan and around the world.
“A mix of cultures can be a breeding ground for new ideas, which is the real joy of starting a new studio“says Nakamura. This diversity will naturally be reflected in the games made by the studio.”I want to create a game with characters that reflect real life personalities and minorities, with an open minded setting that represents multiple cultures“says Nakamura.
According to what is reported in the video Unseen will also tackle a mix of projects. “I don’t want to think only in terms of video games“says Nakamura.”I want to create a new IP that can work as a variety of entertainment. For example, anime, education, and clothing. I would like to create a game that can also have an impact on this type of media“.
