Hyundai Bayon, the brand’s urban SUV, received an important recognition from the German magazine Auto Bild with the title of “Best Import Car” for 2022. Bayon in fact, it dominated the standings in the “compact SUV” category, thanks to the remarkable results obtained in the numerous tests conducted by Auto Bild over the past 12 months. Bayon’s win in the 2022 ranking follows the model’s success in the magazine’s comparison test in 2021.

Hyundai Bayon was developed in Europe specially for the European market and is highly competitive on the CO2 emissions front, thanks to the adoption of an updated Kappa engine family. The 1.0 T-GDi is a turbocharged three-cylinder with direct injection for optimum efficiency. Coupled with Hyundai’s unique 48-volt mild-hybrid technology and Intelligent Manual Transmission, the model delivers remarkable fuel efficiency. In the top-of-the-range version, Bayon is available with a 48V 100PS 1.0 T-GDi engine, mated to either an intelligent 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 1.2 MPI petrol and 1.2 LPG engines are also very popular on the Italian market, the latter with distances exceeding 1,300 km with a full tank of LPG and petrol. With a wheelbase of 2,580 mm, the Bayon stands out for its generous and comfortable interior space, while its boot offers above-average capacity: 411 liters according to the VDA standard.
