EThings are bad for them and there is no improvement in sight. It's about our passwords. This year, password crackers with artificial intelligence will experience an unexpected upswing. The relevant tools already exist. AI helps improve the quality of predicted passwords, so likely passwords are tried first and unlikely ones later. The tools make assumptions about password patterns and use algorithms for chained passwords.
Last year, security researchers evaluated data from a hacker attack in which 32 million user data were stolen in an unencrypted database. All passwords that were either very short or longer than 18 characters were removed from this database. The remaining 15.6 million passwords were presented to an AI, and after evaluation, the corresponding tool could have guessed half of all passwords in less than a minute. In less than an hour it was 65 percent, within a day it was 71 percent.
