Sony has released a teaser trailer to reveal the first exclusive game for PlayStation VR2 (so only for PS5): Horizon Call of the Mountain. It is a single player adventure set in the world of Horizon, developed by Guerrilla Games in collaboration with Firesprite, one of the new PlayStation Studios.
In the video we can initially see Jan-Bart Van Beek, the head of Guerrilla Games, who briefly illustrates the project. Then, towards the minute 1:21, a short gameplay sequence starts in which we see a non-player character wake up the protagonist, of which nothing is yet known. Then we see the same one who is rowing on a boat, passed under a metal beast.
On the PlayStation Blog it is specified that the player will play a completely new character. So no Aloy in this case, but he will be among the non-player characters and will be able to meet, along with other familiar faces for fans of the series. The setting looks like that of Horizon Forbidden West, but to get more information on the point, we have to wait.
Unfortunately the developers couldn’t share anything else on Horizon Call of the Mountain right now, leaving the official presentation for when the PlayStation VR2 headset will also be shown (at least that’s what it’s supposed to). It is not even clear if it will be one of the titles of the launch line-up of the new viewer, whose technical characteristics have just been officially unveiled.
