Honda anticipates the local competition and launches its own first online car sales service in Tokyo. It is the first Japanese car manufacturer to offer such a service within friendly walls: initially it will be aimed at all customers interested in the capital of the Asian country, but it cannot be excluded that it may later be extended to the whole national territory. . Thanks to this service, which will be called “Honda ON“, It will be possible for customers to complete the entire online purchase process, from consultancy to the stipulation of contracts.
The Honda ON service offers customers the opportunity to subscribe to a three or five year subscription for the N-Box, Fit, Freed and Vezel models, the latter known in Europe as HR-V: the fee will be paid on a monthly basis, and will include both the cost of the vehicle itself and that of maintenance. When the subscription expires, whether it is three or five years, the customer will want it will be able to proceed with the final purchase of the car. Once the subscription initiation contracts have been concluded, each customer will be able to indicate in which local dealership to pick up their car, and also where the maintenance will be carried out. Honda therefore offers its customers great choice, who will always have the situation linked to their subscription under control.
The Japanese automaker has already announced the prices of the subscriptions: they range from the cheapest one for the N-Box, which costs 279 dollars a month, to the most expensive one of the Freed, where in this case it starts at 439 dollars a month. In addition to proceeding with the subscription, through the Honda ON service, customers can also schedule a test drive before proceeding with the purchase. We will see what success this service will find, which does not always turn out productive: it was for example for Volvo, while it was not for Mercedes, which was forced to withdraw it in mid-2020 after only a few hundred people had registered in the US.
