Hockey Tuukka Rask ends his hockey career

Rask was involved in winning the Stanley Cup in 2011.

In the NHL Goalkeeper for the Boston Bruins Tuukka Rask has announced it will end its hockey career, according to Reuters.

“While I’m sad to say goodbye to a game I love, I’m really grateful to have been able to share the last 15 years with some of my greatest teammates and fans in the world’s best sports city,” Rask, 34, said in a news release Bruins also shared on Twitter.

Rask returned to the team in January after having suffered from hip problems that were treated with surgery. He was involved in winning the Stanley Cup Championship in 2011 and leading the team to the league finals in 2013 and 2019 as well.

“When I made the decision to go for hip surgery last summer, I did so realizing that recovery would be challenging. I also knew I had to do it if I wanted to give myself a chance to play the best hockey again, ”Rask said in a statement.

Raskin however, according to him, his body has not returned to a level high enough for him to play at the high level he wants.

Rask played a total of 563 matches in the Bruins shirt and won the league’s best goalkeeper award in 2014.
