Hockey Tappara’s solver Veli-Matti Savinainen on the jokers’ departure from KHL: “The right decision”

Savinainen was the solver on Monday and also scored an important goal in Tuesday’s match.

Kouvola

Experienced striker Veli-Matti Savinainen found a new puck home in the familiar Tappara when the Jokers’ KHL season ended with Russia’s declaration of war.

Savinainen enjoyed his eyes in Kouvola on Tuesday when Tappara applied for a spectacular 5–1 away win over KooKoo.

“It probably settled on that when we took the lead, and KooKoo applied for a goal and a handicap, after which the package opened. KooKoo overeated and with our good five-point defense we were able to strike back, ”Savinainen told HS after the Kouvola game.

Willpower Savinainen reaped a decisive and important 2-1 goal with superiority. Not only was it a winning goal, it also changed the direction of the game and also opened the shells that had been stuck until then.

“There was a bit of a change of superiority setups after two games were massaged the same and no gaps were properly found. I got a good spin for almost two minutes, and I got the puck in my place in the middle. I was a fly, and I hit the rebound [paluukiekon] in.”

Tappara’s escape journey began when Captain KooKoo first Alexander Bonsaksen fluttered with the puck in the vicinity of his goal and Joona Luoto added Tappara’s lead to 3-1. The second installment progressed to 28.42 when Jukka Peltola got through the counterattack and lifted from the knuckle to the top corner.

This was all the result of KooKoo’s haste and desire to even out the match.

“KooKoo was furiously looking for a draw, and that’s when those hits came. So-called counter-goals. Moderation is a trump card, ”Savinainen said, referring to Tappara’s patience.

“Let’s hone my own stencil for as long as there’s a need.”

Teams will face for the fifth time when they play in Tampere on Thursday. Then the series can make its decision.

“We try our best, but every game is new and certainly KooKoo will do its best then not to break the series. It is never easy to break. Then you have to have your senses awake and ready to fight. ”

Savinainen even complained that Tappara was not quite as ready in Kouvola as he should have been. However, it was enough to win.

Savinainen, who is always fighting, enjoys play offs and the atmosphere of spring.

“These can’t be compared to any regular season matches.”

Clayey was left unattended for a short time as the Jokers quit KHL. Tappara quickly held out his hand, and Savinainen returned to his former company, where he set aside success.

“I have good memories of Tappara and friends and friends. There are the same people on the board. And when the Jokerit made the right decision and left KHL, this Tappara is a club to return to, and Tampere is a great city. ”

And Savinainen has a 9-year-old son who lives in Tampere with his mother.

“An eager boy who goes to almost every game he can get away with on his own. A lively young man is following in his father’s footsteps. ”

The funniest thing is that Savinainen’s son plays in Ilves as the mother of his mother’s tough Ilves fanaticism.

“That’s what happened.”

If Tappara and Ilves’ final series materializes, the little boy may have difficulty deciding which one to encourage.

TPS won Ilves in Tampere in the final round 3–2 Mikael Pyyhtiän hit, and TPS now leads the series 2-1. The teams will face on Wednesday in the fourth game.

Tappara and KooKoo will play their fifth match on Thursday in Tampere.
