Interesting August at home Hennessey. The American tuner and manufacturer has created a convertible variant of his Venom F5, equipped with the same 1817 HP V8 engine, with the goal of officially becoming the fastest roadster in the world beating the Venom GT Spyder (which came out as much as 12 years ago). The declared maximum speed is 480 kilometers per hour, and who knows, perhaps we are also aiming to exceed this figure.
There Venom F5 Roadster it is almost identical to its coupe sister, apart from the 8 kg removable roof – which Hennessey has very modestly defined “A work of art”And the transparent bonnet to see the 6.6-liter internal combustion engine in all its splendor. Here the electric sirens have not yet arrived, obviously. The available gearbox is seven-speed single-clutch automatic, and traction is rear.
The American company said that this hypercar was built to reach very high speeds, although a limiter exists with the roof removed. Good thing for car customers who don’t want to go to Bonneville Plain and try their luck. Acceleration will remain searing, despite being slower than the 2.6 seconds obtained by the coupe version. The culprit is to be found in the weight, with the 20 kilograms added to have a stiffer frame. In total the car weighs 1405 kilograms.
The Roadster is further distinguished from its coupé sister by its wheels, forged in aluminum alloy. They have seven pairs of rays, each resembling an elongated “H”. Customers can also choose the highly polished aluminum Hyper Silver – this unique finish requires a painstaking hand polishing process that takes weeks to complete. The wheels are secured with five titanium nuts.
The Venom F5 Roadster will be produced in Texas in just 30 units, with assembly scheduled to begin at the end of 2022. Hennessey Special Vehicles evaluated the new Venom F5 Roadster at a price of $ 3 million.
