Arrowhead Games Studio from now on the pace of patch release Of Helldivers 2 will slow down, to give developers the opportunity to work on it longer and consequently increase the quality of new content and more thoughtful balance changes.
This is, in summary, when stated by community manager Twinbeard on the official Helldivers 2 Discord servers, who admitted that so far the update cadence was too highleading to a slowdown in work and a reduction in quality.
“We want to take a little more time for the next patch and potentially future ones, as we feel the cadence was probably a little too high to be able to maintain the quality standard that we want and that you deserve,” Twinbeard said.
“Releasing many patches can easily interrupt your workflow and requires more resources than you might think; it requires planning, implementation, monitoring, possible changes in hotfixes, etc. So we prefer to extend the time a little, hoping to get a good result”.
Plans not yet defined
Slowing down the pace of updates should therefore lead benefits the game, developers and players. However, it seems that at the moment the development team has not outlined a precise schedule for the publication, according to the response given by Twinbeard to a player who asked if from now on the balance patches will be distributed every two weeks or once a week month.
“Nothing that detailed has been decided. I would say it’s something we need to test and do some analysis on. At the moment we feel that a slightly lower cadence is beneficial for us, for you and for the game.”
