The majority of calls were related to traffic and the presence of obstacles on public roads
The Emergency Coordination Center of the Region of Murcia received, between 7:00 and 20:00 on Monday, a total of 142 calls referring to 123 incidents caused by the rain, most of them in the city of Murcia.
By volume of calls, issues related to traffic and the presence of obstacles on public roads, with 60 calls and 53 issues, were the most attended; followed by the drainage of water, with 27 calls and 23 issues, and landslides and sanitation, with 13 calls and 10 issues.
The municipality from which the greatest number of calls were received was Murcia, with a total of 96, followed far behind by Molina de Segura (9); Los Alcazares (5); Fortuna, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Las Torres de Cotillas (4); and Cartagena and Cieza (3).
Orange alert in the Vega del Segura
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) activated the orange warning for storms between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. this Monday in the municipalities of Vega del Segura. In the northwest of this region, rainfall of about 30 liters was observed in one hour, according to the Aemet.
For its part, the yellow warning for heavy rains remains until midnight both in the Vega del Segura, and in the rest of the Region of Murcia.
