Hearts: the locations of the fiction, where it was shot
Where (location) was filmed Cuori, the new Italian TV series set in the late sixties? The fiction, which intertwines typical surroundings from medical TV series to others more related to melò, was mainly shot in Turin where filming began in September 2020 and ended in March 2021. Numerous locations used for outdoor shooting: Docks Dora , Palazzo Cisterna, Torino Esposizioni, Cavallerizza Reale, Valentino Castle and Park, Armida Rowing Club, Carignano Theater, Subalpine Gallery and Roman Cinema, Monte dei Cappuccini and the Faculty of Anatomy. Outside the city, however, the fiction was shot at the Leumann Village in Collegno and at the Ponte del Diavolo in Lanzo. The former Riberi Military Hospital, on the other hand, was the external face of the Molinette, while the indoor scenes, with all the interiors of the hospital, were reconstructed in the Lumiq Studios: operating rooms, waiting rooms, hospital corridors they occupied an area of 2100 square meters.
Plot
We’ve seen the locations where Hearts was shot, but what’s the plot? Cesare Corvara is the head physician of Molinette, as well as founder of the first Italian cardiac surgery department. Corvara works assisted by Alberto Ferraris, a young man with a crystalline talent, tempered in life by the premature loss of his father, who finds it intolerable to have to give up in the face of the limits of science. The two, and especially Corvara, are threatened by the chief surgeon Enrico Mosca, who loves being in the spotlight and dreams of being able to take the place of the head physician. Delia Brunello, a cardiologist with perfect pitch who comes from New York and who, despite her great diagnostic skills, has always struggled to establish herself in a still male-dominated world, upsets the already fragile workers’ balances. It was Cesare who wanted her in Turin, but perhaps he did not reckon with the consequences of his decision.
