“Radiologists are now part of the interdisciplinary boards that make decisions on all patients. Radiology is not only diagnostic but also therapeutic and this is very important for the decisions that are made. Radiology remains a fundamental pillar of all hospitals, without it the diagnostic and therapeutic process of a patient is blocked, and, with all the technologies available, it offers a decisive contribution”. This was said by Massimo Venturini, general secretary of the 51st Sirm National Congress – Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology, on the occasion of the press conference organized in Milan by the scientific society and entitled ‘Earlier and more precise diagnoses for better use of therapies: it is the radiomics, the new frontier of medical radiology’.
