The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Metropolitan Epiphanius, fell ill with COVID-19. About it reported on the website of the schismatic church.
It is specified that the primate received confirmation of a positive test for coronavirus. He will go into self-isolation and will be on outpatient treatment.
It is known that last year Epiphanius completed a full course of vaccination.
At the beginning of 2019, in Ukraine, where previously there was only one canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), a church schism occurred. Orthodox schismatic movements formed the OCU, which subsequently received a tomos of autocephaly. Most of the world’s Orthodox churches, including the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), have not recognized her.
