During his reception at Al Bahr Palace the mission’s team, His Highness affirmed his confidence in the ability of the nation’s youth to reach new scientific horizons that enhance the UAE’s leadership in the fields of space.
His Highness the President of the State, “may God protect him”, said that the UAE’s mission to explore the moon confirms that we are moving confidently forward in the field of space, and that the historic achievement of sending the “Probe of Hope” to Mars will not be the only or last Emirati achievement, because our ambitions in This field has no limits.
His Highness added that the UAE, through its endeavor to explore the moon, confirms its belief in science as a path to renaissance and development, enhances its position among the leading countries in space sciences at the global level, provides great services to humanity, and sends a positive message from the Arab region to the world in the ability of Arabs to actively engage in The march of modern science, and the competition in the field of global progress in one of its most subtle and complex fields, which is the field of space.
His Highness the President of the State said: “The Emirati cadres working in space programs are a source of pride, along with our national cadres in other vital areas, which are our real wealth, and a source of inspiration for others in all areas of national work, and our main bet to achieve all our aspirations and development goals. During the coming decades, therefore, it will receive all support, encouragement and care to continue its excellence and write Emirati and Arab history in the field of space.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, also received the work team of the UAE mission to explore the moon, which is the first Arab scientific mission of its kind.
His Highness signed part of the parts of the vehicle, which bears the name “Explorer Rashid” and developed by a team of Emirati engineers, experts and researchers at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.

Emirati ambitions in space
The move embodies the aspirations of the UAE in the field of space, as the first mission of its kind in the Arab world aims to access data, images and information that will allow it to conduct a comprehensive and integrated study of how to build human settlements on the moon at a later time, and prepare for future missions that the UAE intends to launch towards the red planet.
This mission also embodies the country’s vision of enhancing its global position within the space field, and consolidating its ability to play a positive role in scientific research and related international explorations in this field, including providing answers to many key questions about the solar system and the planets surrounding the Earth and others.
Through the Emirates mission to explore Mars, the UAE intends to study the plasma on the surface of the moon, take high-resolution images of the terrain and test new technologies for navigation, communications, robotics, and navigation. While the explorer “Rashid” will provide about 10 gigabytes of recorded materials, scientific data and recent and new images, of high value, which will be presented to the global scientific community.
During his first exploratory mission, using qualitative devices and techniques, the explorer will study many phenomena by extracting a set of data and analyzing them in a scientific and documented manner. The first Arab explorer
The UAE lunar exploration project, which includes the development and launch of the first Arab explorer to land on the moon, was announced, as it captures a large set of images and data, which is the first of its kind in areas that are being explored for the first time, including the “Marie Frigoris” region, specifically the “Atlas crater” area. During the mission, a set of the latest technologies and innovative devices, in addition to sensing and communication systems, will be used, while the explorer is distinguished by its ability to resist the drop in temperatures on the moon’s surface, which reaches 173 degrees Celsius.
The project constitutes a new step in the UAE’s efforts and efforts to enhance its growing presence in the space sector, and based on the importance of the moon and its proximity to the planet, as many countries previously launched scientific missions to its surface, including the United States, Russia and China, and today India and Japan lead Various scientific missions to study the surface of the moon and explore its data.
