Help.- A 39-year-old man recently confessed to the murder of another man after a verbal argument on Thursday, August 1 in Socorro, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).
Oscar R., 39, has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly fatally shooting Joel H., 36.
Socorro Police were notified of a possible homicide Thursday in the 11500 block of Valle Verde, according to EPCSO.
According to EPCSO, officers met with a witness who reported the possible homicide and told police that Oscar R., who reportedly returned to his residence, got into a verbal argument with Joel H. that ended in a fatal shooting.
EPCSO’s Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team also responded to the incident and negotiated the “peaceful surrender” of Oscar R., who later confessed to killing Joel H., according to EPCSO.
Oscar R. has been booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on $500,000 bail, according to EPCSO.
