A Journey in Search of Himself: Lewis Hamilton thus he approached the summer holidays that led him to visit Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. The same seven-time world champion called him a “total reset in search of my roots“: And the path could have worked, because Sir Lewis, returning from Africa, even defined himself as a different person from the one who had started the journey.
The Mercedes driver, as usual, communicated to fans via Instagram: “These last two weeks have been some of the best days of my life. I am no longer the same man I was before this trip: all the beauty, love and peace that I have experienced have completely transformed me. No photo could capture what I’m feeling now and what I’m trying to say. Just know that where words aren’t enough, emotions go deep. I have come into contact with my roots and my history and feel my ancestors with me stronger than ever. Thanks Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. Thanks to these peoples, nature and wild animals. We have been made very welcome in every beautiful place we have visited. We were treated like family. To my brothers who joined me on this journey, thank you. I know we’ll talk about it forever“.
For the seven-time world champion, the trip to Africa served to recharge his batteries in preparation for the rush final of the World Championship, where he is called to confirm his progress and those of Mercedes. And, who knows, winning a race win for the 16th year out of 16. It would be yet another record in an unrepeatable career.
