Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has finished selecting members of his technical staff for next season, as Rodolfo Borrell became the first assistant coach and Enzo Marisca returned to work at the club again.
The changes, announced by the Premier League champions on Tuesday, followed the departure of Guardiola’s assistant coach Juan Manuel Lillo from the club in June.
Borrell, who previously worked in Barcelona and Liverpool, has started working in Manchester City since 2014 and has joined the coaching staff of the first team since Guardiola took office in 2016, according to the British news agency BA Media.
As for Mariska, he returns to work at Manchester City one year after his departure from the club, and he spent this year coaching Italian Parma.
“Manchester City is pleased to announce the return of Enzo Marisca to the club as part of Pep Guardiola’s support staff,” Manchester City said in a statement.
He added, “Rodolfo Borrell, who has been at City since 2014, was promoted to become the assistant coach, succeeding Juan Manuel Lillo, who left the club recently.”
