Ferrari dominated Qualifying for the GT World Challenge Europe at Monza to take Pole Position for this penultimate Endurance Cup event.
Despite having been weighted by 5kg before the session with the usual Balance of Performance change that SRO invariably places between one day and the next (+10kg for the Lamborghinis, -30kg for the Ford Mustang), the 296 GT3 of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Alessio Rovera and Vincent Abril was the fastest in each heat.
The #51 AF Corse-Francorchamps Motors trio were consistently in the lead, with an average time of 1’44″911 that was 0″172 faster than the #7 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin, in a front row of title contenders that will be very interesting at the start.

Keep an eye on the second row of the grid too, with the #48 ‘Mamba’ Mercedes joining the #32 Team WRT BMW, while Schumacher’s #22 CLRT Porsche and GRT’s #163 Lamborghini find themselves in fifth and sixth place, just a couple of tenths behind.
Also excellent was the seventh time at 0″338 for the BMW #46 of Team WRT driven by Marciello/Martin/Rossi and the ‘Doctor’ did very well to lap at the same pace as his teammates, keeping behind him the Aston Martin #34 of Walkenhorst Motorsport.
With the ninth fastest time overall, the #188 McLaren of Garage 59 takes Pole Position in the BRONZE CUP Class, while the Top 10 is completed by the #998 BMW of Rowe Racing, followed by the #71 Ferrari and the #2 Mercedes of Get Speed.
In the BRONZE CUP, the Ferrari #52 of AF Corse is 15th overall and second of the group, further back is the McLaren #27 of Optimum and the Ferraris of Kessel #8 and Sky Tempesta Racing #93.
In the GOLD CUP class, the lead goes to the Aston Martin #21 of Comtoyou Racing, 13th overall, followed at a safe distance by the Audis of Saintéloc #25 and Tresor Competition #88.
Pole Position for the Lamborghini-GRT #19 in the SILVER CUP, in second place we have the Audi-Saintéloc #26, third the Aston Martin #12 of Comtoyou Racing.
Maxime Oosten had a disastrous debut in the #98 Rowe Racing BMW, crashing into the wall on the exit of the ‘Ascari’, also causing a red flag for several minutes of Q2.
The start of the 3h of Monza is scheduled for 15:30.
