Following the recent release on November 11th, a user appears to have found files referencing a possible VR mode for GTA Remastered Trilogy: The Definitive Edition, which could have introduced first person mode. The same author of the find also posted a video, available in this news, to show how it works.
While Rockstar itself has promised a new update, Ben Walker has discovered files and a line of code regarding a possible VR mode, which still needs some tweaking. Despite this, first person mode seems to work almost entirely, as also shown in a video posted online on his profile Twitter.
However access this version it’s not easy at all, in fact you need a particular mod and access to the debug menu, where it will be possible to enter the command line related to the VR. Once activated, this mode will allow you to see the various cities literally with a new perspective, even if not completely completed.
The game, released just over a week ago, received tons of negative reviews from users, causing him to become a victim of review bombing on the site Metacritic, as we have reported in this news. The presence of some unfinished files makes us think more and more that the title came out very quickly, without the necessary care from the development team.
There is a debug Unreal command for GTA VR but it looks a little bit unfinished. Maybe it would be cool if they implemented this as a first-person option? It plays pretty well. Gunfights and punching will need tweaking, would be super cool for screenshots! pic.twitter.com/pxq5ivwGOA

It is still unclear whether this VR mode for GTA Remastered Trilogy: The Definitive Edition will never even go out for the public, especially now that Rockstar is grappling with a patch to correct the various errors present, which led to very negative votes. At the moment there is no official information, although given this recent discovery the community could act on its own and complete the work of the original team.
