Austria also makes use of mandatory green passes in the workplace, while covid-19 infections are rising again. Starting from November 1st it will be necessary to show the green passport to work in contact with other people. The health authorities will carry out random checks to verify compliance with the new rules. In case of non-possession of the green pass, the employer will have to pay a fine of 3600 euros and the employees of 500, announced the Minister of Labor, Martin Kocher.
Kocher hoped that employers will enforce the rules, adding that it will be possible to put those who do not want to show the green pass into smart working. Workers who do not come into contact with other people, including truck drivers, will be exempt from the obligation.
Almost 62% of the entire population in Austria is currently fully vaccinated. The seven-day incidence of covid-19 infection has recently risen, reaching 183 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, after remaining below 150 for several weeks.
