I reach the summit
Misano-2 cancels out Misano-1. Arithmetically speaking, the double of ‘away’ races can be summarised as follows Jorge Martin: he had lost 19 points to Pecco Bagnaia in the race on Sunday two weeks ago, he gained 20 today, benefiting from the slide that saw the three-time world champion as the protagonist with six laps to go. The Spaniard from the Prima-Pramac team did not, however, appreciate the way in which – after a race essentially dominated – he saw himself snatch the top step of the podium from Enea Bastianini on the last lap with a tough and very controversial maneuver.
The clash with Bastianini
In the heat of the moment, on the track, Martin reacted very badly: he told Bastianini to go to hell after the contact and made umbrella gesture crossing the finish line. But then he immediately apologized to the Beast for his reaction and in the press conference, while remaining of his opinion on what happened, he avoided directly attacking his rival. His analysis of what happened on the track was however rather clear and the target seemed to be especially the Race Direction.
“The move was definitely over the top. – Martin declared – but there is no point in continuing to talk, it would not change anything. I certainly believe that now the regulation for the future in cases like these is clearer. Next time, if I find myself doing the same, surely there won’t be any consequences, right? At least I hope so.“. Now the MotoGP will move to Indonesia, where last year Martin dominated but crashed when he was leading by more than three seconds: “I can’t wait to go back there – Martin relaunched – I really liked that track. Here in Misano we did too many laps. I think I can do a great performance there“.
