Great time for Gordon Murray Automotive, the company founded by the famous engineer Gordon Murray. Known for his glorious past in Formula 1 and for the McLaren F1, a road car that has also had extraordinary success on the track, today Murray dedicates body and soul to his personal project, thanks to a list made up of three cars: T.50, T.50S and T.33.
Well, according to what we read on the website of the British car manufacturer, all models are sold out, with reservations already placed in production line. Customers who are cut off are even advised to contact the sales team to (re) put themselves on the list, in view of the future models that will be presented by GMA. So there remains one thing to do, in addition to producing: go around and show what engineers can do under the protective wing of the legendary Murray.
For this reason, the brand will be at the Monterey Car Week in California, where Murray will be guest star in some round tables with fans, and especially where the T.50 and T.33 models will be shown live to the Americans for the first time. Incidentally, the company announced that will open a Gordon Murray Automotive Center in Floridaprecisely to have a greater proximity to American customers, who are obviously very important for the health of the financial statements.
However, remember that Gordon Murray Automotive will not only deal with supercars. The company led by the South African-born engineer of the same name will continue development of two electric SUV models for the mass market, on a new platform designed internally. If they will be like the T.33, a car with such a simple and clean design to the point of stylistically going against the tide of rivals in the same market segment, then it will be fun. After all, as Murray himself said, “today’s supercars are too complex“: Will it also apply to SUVs?
