The Argentinian Gonzalo Higuain, striker of Inter-Miamiannounced on Monday his retirement from football at the age of 34 after developing a brilliant career in clubs like River Plate, Real Madrid and Juventus and in the albiceleste selection.

‘Pipita’ Higuaín pointed out that “it’s time to say enough, it’s time to enjoy my family”, after a career that included other top international clubs such as Chelsea, Milan and Napoli.
Why do you leave?
“The decision to leave professional football was made three or four months ago, I communicated it to the club. We reached an agreement, it wasn’t from one day to the next. I had already been working on it for years,” revealed the attacker, who has scored 31 goals in the Argentine national team and more than 300 in total.
The definitive withdrawal will take place at the end of the season with Miami, which aspires to reach the playoffs. The matches that are missing Inter in the regular phase are on Wednesday against orlando-city and on Sunday against Montreal, both at home.
“My greatest motivation is to help my teammates. It would be the most beautiful gift I can have as a player to retire as champion with them,” said the French-born Argentine.
‘Pipita’ made his debut at the age of 17 at River in Argentina and then went to Real Madrid where he scored 107 goals between 2006 and 2013, in addition to playing three World Cups (2010, 2014 and 2018)
