Gino Cecchettin: “After Giulia's death I wanted to take revenge on Turetta”
Gino Cecchettin admits that he had a desire for revenge after the death of his daughter Giulia, the 22-year-old killed by her ex-boyfriend Filippo Turetta.
“After the fact I wanted revenge, but then I concentrated on her which was love and everything else disappeared. When feelings of anger and revenge begin to emerge, I focus on her and any feelings of hatred vanish. This is why I didn't want to mention Filippo. I wanted to leave only the beautiful in the book. And I don't 'sign a copy', sorry, because for me it's a memorial” the man declared to the “Repubblica delle Idee”.
Gino Cecchettin then added: “I wake up every morning and pass in front of Giulia's room. I suffer a lot, but then I get stronger and when I leave that room I am able to get on a stage like this and I am able to speak, to contact the Universities for the Foundation and I am also able to go and eat a pizza and to be happy. I have two other children and I have a duty to be strong. I want to remember my Giulia and this will allow me to be powerful and no one will be able to tell me how to experience my pain. Everyone must understand how to live “her” of her.
