With the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on Steam and Epic Games Store it was only a matter of time before ElAnalistaDeBits made a video comparison between the PC version and the PS5 version of the action set in Japan by Sucker Punch, which you can now view in the player below.
As we can see in the video there is no abyss separating the PS5 version published in 2021 with the one on PC, which however can boast, configuration permitting, elements such as shadows, volumetric fog and higher quality ambient occlusion, as well as surpassing, even abundantly, the maximum ceiling of 60 fps seen on consoles, especially taking advantage of upscaling technologies. For example, in the video by ElAnalistaDeBits, using the DLSS Performance with 4K resolution and maximum graphics settings, it is possible to reach around 65 fps with a medium-low range GPU such as the RTX 4060Ti, up to 140 fps with the RTX 4080 Super. The only area where the PC version apparently isn’t on par or better than the PS5 version is loading times.
Ghost of Tsushima is now available on Steam and Epic Games Store
Before leaving you, we remind you that the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is available on Steam and Epic Games Store at the price of 59.99 euros. This is the complete version of the title, which includes both the base game and the Iki Island expansion previously published on PlayStation platforms.
Unlike the PS5 and PS4 version, on PC Ghost of Tsushima offers a range of customizable graphics options and supports DLSS 3, FSR 3 and XeSS upscaling technologies, as well as FSR 3 Native AA for superior image quality. We also find resolutions designed for ultrawide 21:9, 32:9 and even 48:9 setups, support for controllers with customizable controls and the exclusive functions of the PS5 DualSense. The game seems to have been received positively by players on Steam, so much so that the numbers at launch are among the best of all PlayStation games launched on PC.
