Zapopan, Jalisco.- The new pedagogical urban water forest, or also called Colomos IIIToday was inaugurated after decades the Citizen Collective for the Pedagogical Forest of Water began its restoration.
With the bridge overlooking the metropolitan area of Guadalajara that is elevated over the La Campana streamis now enabled for citizens to take tourist or recreational walks.
“An important part of the work was the construction of a pedestrian bridge to unite the pedagogical forest with the botanical gardenon the aqueduct avenue”, assured the mayor of Guadalajara, Pablo Lemus.
“Does seven years I joined as mayor of Zapopan to the fight that Jaime Eloy Ruiz Barajas and Jorge Gastón began decades ago with the Citizen Collective for the Pedagogical Forest of Water,” added Lemus.
Likewise, both Pablo Lemus and the governor of the state of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, recalled that former governor Aristóteles Sandoval was part of the project: “Who managed to recover several hectares that were in private hands”, added the mayor.

The Colomos III has accesses on Acueducto, Santa Cecilia and Las Palmas avenues, while members of the collective carried out reforestation of trees in the urban forest continuously until August 14.
