Germany's services purchasing managers' index (PMI) rose from 47.7 in January to 48.3 in February, according to a final survey released this Tuesday, 5th, by S&P Global in partnership with the Hamburg Commercial Bank. The definitive reading for February was above the preliminary estimate and the projection of analysts consulted by FactSet, of 48 in both cases. The German composite PMI, which encompasses services and industry, fell from 47 to 46.3 in the same period, but was revised upwards from 46.1 originally. Readings below 50 signal contraction in German economic activity.
