Many people will spend a lifetime working and will not be able to earn R$1 million. Now imagine rejecting US$ 35 million (R$ 197 million) for a single day of work. That’s what actor George Clooney did when he dumped being the poster boy for an airline.
In an interview with The Guardian, the American actor said that the decision was based on a broader reading than just the money. His wife, Amal Clooney, is a lawyer involved with the topic of human rights, and advised him not to accept the proposal that most mortals cannot refuse.

Together, he explained, the two understood “that it wasn’t worth it” to accept the job because the airline is associated with “a country that, although an ally, is sometimes questionable.” “So I thought, ‘Well, if it takes me a minute of sleep, it’s not worth it.’ ” Clooney said.
The answer came after a question about whether he thinks he has enough money to live a life away from the screen. The actor’s net worth is US$500 million (R$2.8 billion), money he made working in films, series and commercials for brands he is also a partner in, such as Nespresso.
The actor is promoting the movie “Tender Bar”, which has his direction and has Ben Affleck in the main role. The work opens in the United States on the 17th.
