The authority obtained the photos from its followers throughout Egypt, and then broadcast them on its official Facebook page.
The pictures show dust and thunderstorms in Giza Governorate, Katameya-Ain Al-Sukhna Road, Al-Wahat Al-Bahariya Road, Cairo and other areas of Egypt.
It also published videos showing rain, accompanied by hail, in a number of areas, such as the Fifth Settlement near Cairo.
The authority warned of “the multiplication of thunderstorms over the cities overlooking the Gulf of Suez and areas of the Sinai Peninsula, accompanied by heavy rains, sometimes to the point of torrential rain, with the continuation of rain clouds over northern Upper Egypt and areas of the Eastern Desert and Cairo.”
And the Meteorological Authority spoke of “the activity of exciting winds of sand and dust due to the air falling from the bottom of the thunder clouds.”
And earlier on Saturday, the authority warned of the spread of “thunder cells” over a number of governorates, which arise as a result of the presence of two air depressions on top of each other, which leads to the formation of thunderclouds accompanied by heavy rain, flashes of lightning and active winds.
The authority said that thunder cells affect most areas of Egypt, and are accompanied by heavy rains sometimes and are accompanied by hail in some areas.
