The PRF reported that only MT and PA register interdictions; country reached 25 states and the Federal District with highways affected
The PRF (Federal Highway Police) informed the 8:20 pm this Friday (4.Nov.2022) that no federal highway is completely blocked and that only 5 roads are interdicted, that is, their flow is partially interrupted. According to the police, 975 demonstrations were undone.
Since the 30th of October, protesters against the victory of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (EN) in the presidential race occupy roads across Brazil. On Monday (Oct 31), the day after the 2nd round of elections, the country registered blockades or interdictions in 25 states and the Federal District.
According to the latest update from the PRF, only 2 states register interdictions. There are 3 partial blocks in Pará and 2 in Mato Grosso.
In the State of Pará, the 3 interdictions are located on the BR-163: at km 110, in the stretch located in Cachoeira da Serra; at km 159, in Castelo dos Sonhos, and a 3rd at km 312, in Novo Progresso.
The Federal Highway Police of Mato Grosso did not say which stretches are prohibited. O Power 360 contacted the PRF advisory in the State, but had no response until the publication of this post.
According to another PRF report released to 3:03 pm this Friday (03.nov), 45 people had been arrested in the demonstrations. In addition, 5,422 assessments were carried out and R$14 million were applied in fines during the mobilizations.The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes determined this Friday a period of 48 hours for the Federal Highway Police to present, with documents, the evolution of the police force deployed on the highways from October 28 to November 4.

On Thursday (Nov. 3.2022), Moraes also ordered the PRF to detail, within 48 hours, the fines imposed on truck drivers who blocked roads against Lula’s victory.
