French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne to resign
French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne to resign reported on the website of the country's government. It is noted that the head of government submitted a request to resign from her post on January 8, and President Emmanuel Macron accepted it.
It is clarified that Born will remain in office, like other members of the Cabinet, until a new government is formed. Born has headed the French Cabinet since May 2022.
Macron on social network X thanked Bourne to work. “Your service to our nation every day has been exemplary. You carried out our project with courage, dedication and determination. From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” the head of the republic wrote.
In May, Elizabeth Bourne demanded that much of the text be removed from her recently published biography. In her opinion, it contains too personal information. For example, she wanted to remove phrases relating to her health and sexual orientation, as well as her family life.
Shortly before this, she condemned the Secretary of State for Social, Solidarity and Responsible Economy Marlene Schiappa for agreeing to give an interview to Playboy magazine.
