After two and a half years with the Dragon Penske team Sergio Sette Camara will switch to the NIO 333 team for the 2022-23 Formula E season.
The Brazilian driver made his debut with the Dragon team for the six races of the 2019-20 season which took place in Berlin to replace Brendon Hartley, remaining with the American team for the following two years and obtaining ninth place in Diriyah the year. following.
Sette Camara impressed last season by entering the race for the podium in Race 1 at the 2021-22 London E-Prix before a problem accused in the final phase of the race and then obtained a ninth place in the second race.
These performances earned him the move to the NIO 333 team, a team that has struggled in recent years but which, thanks to a consolidated managerial structure, hopes to be able to start the Gen3 era in a competitive way.
“I am very happy to join the NIO 333 family and I want to thank all the team members who believed in me for this opportunity,” said Sette Camara.
“I have always expressed my desire to stay in the FIA Formula E World Championship, and I am super excited about the new Gen3 car.”

“We are delighted to welcome Sergio,” added NIO 333 team principal Alex Hui. “He is a fantastic talent and his approach has already impressed us a lot.”
“Securing his services completes another part of the NIO 333 team puzzle to progress further in Formula E. We are heading into Season 9 with a lot of motivation and very positive momentum.”
In the second race of the E-Prix in Rome, the NIO 333 team obtained all seven points from last season: Oliver Turvey finished seventh and Dan Ticktum.
The identity of Sette Camara’s teammate at NIO 333 has not yet been revealed, but Dan Ticktum had already stated that he would stay on the team for a second season.
Therefore, only the Dragon / Penske and the Maserati team, former Venturi, remain to appoint a driver for next season.
Dragon should announce the agreements with the new champion Stoffel Vandoorne and with the two-time champion of the category Jean-Eric Vergne, while Maserati seems about to hold back Edoardo Mortara.
The complete line-up of the Italian-Monegasque team was complicated by the proposals that could reach Nyck de Vries in Formula 1 after the excellent debut at the Italian Grand Prix.
Envision is expected to announce Sebastien Buemi alongside Nick Cassidy, while the second seat in McLaren appears to be contested between Maximilian Guenther and Mercedes reserve Jake Hughes.
