Formula 1 | Valtteri Bottas again got the starting screen penalty – the fourth penalty in the last five races

Accelerated with a new engine, Bottas was the fastest in the first drills of the F1 U.S. gp

Mercedes drivers Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton held the toughest ride in Formula One in the first free practice of U.S. GP. The third fastest was Red Bull, the leader of the World Championship for drivers Max Verstappen.

Mercedes confirmed during the drills With their Twitter accountthat Bottas will introduce the sixth engine of the season. The new power unit rushed to Bottas to drive the top of the drills to 1.34,874. Hamilton was 0.045 seconds behind him and Verstappen 0.932 seconds behind.

Using the new engine will mean a five-starting penalty for Bottas for Sunday’s race. U.S. GP time trials will be run on Saturday. Of the previous four race weekends, Bottas has suffered three starting screen penalties.

Alfa Romeon Kimi Raikkonen drove off the track at the end of the rehearsals, but still got his car moving safely. Räikkönen was the tenth fastest in the first exercises. He was 2,002 seconds behind Bottas at the top.

Another practice session will be run in Austin, Texas on Friday.
