Former mayor of Macuspana, Tabasco, land of AMLO, arrested for embezzling funds

Tabasco.- Jose Eduardo “R” who was mayor of the Macuspana, Tabasco He was arrested on Monday by the State Attorney General’s Office for embezzlement crimes.

According to what was mentioned by the authority, the former PRI mayor was arrested after his alleged responsibility in the diversion of resources during his last term as municipal president in Macuspana, land where President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is from, was proven.

As mentioned in the complaint filed against the former mayor in 2019, José Eduardo would have made the purchase of gate valves for almost a million 800 thousand pesosin a process that was reported as unfinished but whose payments were made.

The statement mentions that it was not detected that the valves had been used in the water systems of the municipal jurisdiction in 2018, when the facts were presented. Antecedent that allowed to initiate an investigation on the part of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office on Combat Corruption in Tabasco.
