He former Peruvian advisor Vladimiro Montesinos, who was the “strong man” of the Alberto Fujimori regime (1990-2000), accepted the accusation for the crimes of homicide, murder and forced disappearance in the so-called Pativilca case and will be sentenced next Wednesday, the Peruvian Judiciary reported this Monday.
Montesinos decided to take advantage of “the early conclusion” of the process during the hearing this Monday, so the court in charge of the case decided to “schedule the reading of his sentence for Wednesday, January 31, at 11:00 a.m.”, noted the Judiciary on social network X.
The Fourth National Superior Criminal Chamber continues this process against Fujimori, Montesinos and 21 other people for the murder, in 1992, of six peasants of the town of Pativilca, in the north of the Lima region, by the covert military group Colina.
“Yes, I accept,” said Montesinos when asked by the court about the charges, although his defense requested that his sentence be considered served because he has been in prison for more than 22 years.
Since the Prosecutor's Office requested a sentence of 25 years in prison, the president of the court, Miluska Cano, reported that the sentence against the former advisor will be handed down next Wednesday.

In June 2017, the Supreme Court of Chile expanded the terms of the extradition of
Fujimori to be prosecuted in this case for the crimes of qualified homicide and illicit association.
