Question marks on the future of Ford Mondeo in Europe. Many thought that the Evos presented by the carmaker of the Blue Oval at the Shanghai Auto Show could be a worthy replacement for the current Mondeo, but Ford immediately specified that its sale would be limited to the Chinese market. Yet prototypes very similar to the Evos continue to be spotted on European roads, which could mean that Ford is actually working on a successor of Mondeo. And that that successor could really be Evos.
Despite the heavy camouflage, even the latest prototype immortalized by Carscoops showcases some details of the design of the hypothetical Mondeo successor: broadly it could trace the silhouette of the Evos, with which it could share the same slim headlights and an octagonal shaped radiator grille. From a bodywork point of view, this model will sit between a sedan, a sportback and an SUV coupe. At the rear, on the other hand, a light bar that extends horizontally should stand out, accompanied by headlights with a slightly different design from those of the Evos taillights. Any engine specifications have obviously not been announced, considering that the model has not even been confirmed: it could simply be Evos tests for China on foreign roads, so further confirmations are expected in the coming weeks.
