The production of the model Ford Fiesta in Germany it could remain stationary until almost the end of April, according to the latest rumors coming from Cologne. War in Ukraine, which began with the invasion of Russia into the territory of the neighboring country, has severely tested the working conditions of several local companies. These companies are linked to the automobile production system in Germany, as suppliers for virtually all the manufacturers operating in the country. Among these also Ford, in addition to local brands.
According to reports Automobilwochethe production of the Fiesta, already in hiccups recently, it could be temporarily suspended until at least 25 April. Last week the work shifts were reduced, and this situation will certainly continue until Easter. After that there will be a break period that had already been established previously: a holiday that will therefore lead the next Fiestas to be produced normally, hopefully without further hitches, practically at the dawn of May.
The components that Ford is missing are the same ones that have remained outside the scope of Volkswagen and Mercedes: cables for electrical parts of cars. Such elements are produced precisely in Ukraine. Among other things, the semiconductor crisis had not yet been resolved, for which Ford had already suspended or delayed its production in the past.
Possible delays in the delivery of future Ford Fiesta are therefore expected, a car certainly among the most popular in Europe and one of the strongest on the market, both for its list price and simply for its reliability over time. The car has reached the seventh generation, and its European debut dates back to 1976. Ford is currently engaged, especially in the Old Continent, in a very ambitious investment plan that will lead to the almost total renovation of its production facilities in view of the switch to electric.
