The Swedish and Estonian men’s football leagues will culminate next weekend. In Norway, the season lasts until mid-December.
Domestic the football season was put on the package in practice as early as October. However, games continue in all of Finland’s neighboring countries.
In Russia, the series from autumn to spring has been played for about ten years, but in Sweden, Norway and Estonia the season lasts from spring to late autumn – or actually early winter.
In the Allsvenskan, Eliteserien and Champions League, there will still be fierce battles for the championship amidst snow and heavy frosts, culminating in the first weekends of December.
In Sweden the championship battle was cut for the second time as a result of the final round from a four-team race to a two-handed. In the final round Rasmus Schüllerin and Albion Ademin Djurgården is no longer competing for third place in the European Games Leo Väisänen Against Elfsborg.
The champion is also guaranteed to have a Finnish representation. The strongest in the title is caught Niklas Moisanderin Malmö with a lead Saku Ylätuvan AIK has two points before the final round.
In the final round, which will be played on Saturday in four Finnish times, both teams will play at home. This autumn, Malmö, who has also reached the group stage of the Champions League, will practically have a tie against Halmstad, who is running out of qualifiers.
AIK must win their own match against the middle caste IK Sirius and hope to go further than Malmö.
Three-degree frost and snow showers are forecast for Malmö on Sunday. In Solna, weather problems are alleviated by the closing roof of the stadium.
In Estonia the championship could have been decided as early as Wednesday when Levadia and Flora played the stalled local match in Tallinn.
Flora made history earlier this fall by advancing as the first Estonian team to the group stage of the Conference League or any other Euro football tournament in general. In the domestic league, it has been more difficult, and even a draw would have led to the confirmation of the Levadia championship on Wednesday.
However, Flora, who plays for a completely Estonian team, took a convincing 5-1 victory against the back wall.
Frustrated by the defensive play, Levadia fans started to throw snowballs at the end of the match, first the Flora players and then the assistant referee, which led to the match being suspended for a while. In addition to the police, supporters were also handed over by Levadia’s chairman.
To become champion, Flora has yet to win a match starting on Sunday. Temperatures of more than ten degrees Celsius have been forecast for Tallinn during the match.
In Norway Bodø / Glimt, the pride of the north, who defeated 6-1 in the sensational 6-1 in the European League, and Molde, who are three points behind, will still play in the championship.
Eliteserien will continue for the next two Sundays. Already next Sunday, forecasts look like 11-degree frosts when Bodø / Glimt meets Robert Taylorin represented by Brann, who is struggling for his place in the series.
The season culminates on 12 December, the clearly late end of the “summer series” across Europe. In addition to Norway, Sweden and Estonia, the league season 2021 is still running only in Georgia.
