Football | Sweden falls to the second lowest level in the Nations League – Norway, which applied for promotion, remains in the B League

Spain beat Portugal and advanced to the top four to wait for the final match next summer.

Swedish the men’s national football team drops to the second lowest level of the Nations League, i.e. the C-League.

The Swedes entered the final match of the tournament in last place in their B-League group and would have needed a win over Slovenia to avoid relegation. The match against Slovenia ended in a 1–1 draw.

In the same group, Norway applied for promotion to the A-League. Norway and Serbia took the field in Oslo with equal points, but the invitation to the higher level eventually went to visiting Serbia, who won the match 2–0.

On Monday, Finland retained its place in the B-league by beating Montenegro and finishing second in its group.

Spain in turn defeated the host team Portugal in Braga. The Spaniards defeated their western neighbors with a score of 1–0. Scored the winning goal Alvaro Morata in the 88th minute of the game.

The hosts were looking for just one point from the match to secure top spot in their group, but instead dropped to second place. In 2019, Portugal became the winner of the first Nations League, but now the country was left out of the final match.

Spain, on the other hand, took the last place in the finals of the tournament, which are to be played in June next year. In addition to the Spaniards, Croatia, Italy and the Netherlands are in the top four.

The Czech Republic and Switzerland also played in the same group as Spain and Portugal, the latter of which was allowed to continue in the A-League. Switzerland beat the Czech Republic 2–1, and the Czech Republic was relegated to the B League.

in the B-League Ireland beat Armenia 3–2 and the latter were relegated. Scotland moves from the same group to the A-League, whose match with Ukraine ended in a scoreless draw.

The match between Albania and Iceland, who played in the same group as Israel, ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the C-league, the evening was a celebration for the hosts. Greece, which claimed a place in the B-League, took its fifth victory after defeating Northern Ireland 3–1 in Athens. Kosovo, on the other hand, punished Cyprus 5–1 in Pristina.
